Who is responsible for your information
Eye Monk is an eyewear brand operated by Grand Monk in India. This notice explains how information is used on eyemonk.com. Contact hello@eyemonk.com about your information or use our contact page.
Orders, accounts and delivery
We use the name, contact details, billing and delivery address, selected products, order history and information you provide to process your order, arrange delivery, maintain your account and handle cancellations, returns, replacements and refunds. We also use relevant order records for accounting, fraud prevention, stock management and legal obligations.
Our store uses WordPress and WooCommerce on Hostinger hosting. Shipping information needed to fulfil an order is shared with RapidShyp and the courier handling that shipment. Website, hosting and operational service providers may process relevant information to provide their services. We do not need your prescription to deliver a parcel.
Payments
The payment provider shown at checkout, such as Zoho Payments or Razorpay, processes your payment under its own terms and privacy notice. We use transaction references, payment status, amounts and refund information to reconcile your order. Do not send us a card PIN, OTP, payment password or full card details through email, WhatsApp or a support form.
Prescriptions and fitting information
If you order custom lenses, we use the prescription, measurements and relevant information you choose to provide to review and prepare that order. Relevant details may be shared with the optical professional or lens supplier involved in reviewing and making your eyewear.
Saving a prescription to your account is optional. If you use the saved-prescription service, the information and any file you save are uploaded to the website and associated with your account. Access is intended for you and authorised staff who need it to fulfil or support an order. Do not upload another person’s information without their permission or other appropriate authority.
The prescription reader can help extract text in your browser. Check the extracted values against the original before saving or using them. A reading aid does not confirm that a prescription is suitable for a particular frame or lens.
Virtual try-on
The current try-on pilot requests camera access only when you start it. Its intended operation processes the camera view and face landmarks in your browser for the preview. It is a style preview, not a measurement of physical fit or a substitute for an eye examination. You can choose not to use the camera and shop from product photographs and dimensions.
Saving or uploading a prescription is a separate action from using try-on. If a future feature asks to upload or retain a face image, we will explain that use before collection.
Support, reviews and messages
We use support messages, order references and any photographs you provide to investigate and answer your request. If you contact us through WhatsApp or email, those services also process the communication under their own policies. Include only information needed for the request.
Information you choose to publish in a product review may be visible to other visitors. Do not put addresses, payment information or prescription details in a public review. Spam prevention and website security tools may process technical information such as your IP address and browser details.
Cookies and website measurement
The site uses cookies and similar storage for functions such as your basket, login and site preferences. Installed website measurement and marketing services may also process visit and device information. Browser controls can limit cookies, although some shopping or account functions may then work differently. Where consent is required for an optional use, we will seek it separately from the information needed to complete an order.
Order updates and support replies are service communications. Optional marketing should have a separate choice and a way to opt out. Contact us if you need help stopping promotional messages.
Retention and deletion
We retain information for the purpose for which it is needed, including fulfilling orders, resolving disputes, maintaining requested account services and meeting accounting or legal requirements. Different records may need different retention periods.
Removing a saved prescription through the current account tool moves it out of your active records and may leave a recoverable copy in the site’s trash. This is not an assurance of immediate permanent deletion. Contact us to request permanent erasure. We will explain any information that must be retained for a legal obligation or an unresolved order or dispute. Backups may retain information until their normal replacement cycle.
Your choices and requests
You can ask us about the information we hold, request correction, seek deletion where applicable, or raise a concern about its use. Email hello@eyemonk.com. We may need to verify that the request concerns your information before disclosing or changing it. We will respond under the applicable Indian privacy requirements and explain the outcome or next step.
Parents or lawful guardians should manage orders and relevant information for children. Do not submit a child’s prescription or image unless you are authorised to do so. We may request further information where needed to establish the appropriate permission.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice when our services or legal requirements change. The updated date appears above. We will explain a materially different use of your information when required. This notice does not limit rights available under applicable Indian law.
