Our story began in 1980 with a passion for Optics and a belief that continues to guide us today: quality eyewear should never be a privilege reserved for a few. It should be accessible to everyone.

The Vision and Scientific Mind Behind Grand Monk

At the heart of Grand Monk is the vision and scientific mind of Mr. Kuldip Verma, an M.Tech in Optics from IIT Delhi and a former scientist at ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). Driven by a lifelong passion for Optics and a deep belief in the power of science to improve lives, he has built his journey around precision, innovation, and an uncompromising commitment to quality.

His vision has always extended beyond creating products. It is about solving problems through science, bringing world class precision to instruments and lenses, and making quality accessible to people who depend on it.

His work has included building specialised instruments and lenses for Defence applications and supplying equipment and instruments to laboratories. At a time when world class optical instruments and specialised lenses were not readily available in India, his work reflected a determination to meet demanding requirements through scientific knowledge, precision, and a deep understanding of technology.

For Mr. Verma, quality has never been just a claim. It is something that must be built into every detail, tested with care, and delivered with integrity. These principles have shaped his work and continue to guide the philosophy behind Grand Monk and Eye Monk.

Alongside him is his wife, Mrs. Pratibha Verma, a postgraduate in Chemistry, with a deep understanding of materials and compounds and longstanding experience in Optics. Together, they bring scientific expertise, human understanding, and a shared belief that every product should reflect care, integrity, and excellence.

This is the spirit that continues to guide Grand Monk and inspire the journey of Eye Monk.
